Cynthia Vaughn Barnes on December 19, 2025, passed away peacefully in her sleep, at the age of 77. She was born in

Louisville Kentucky and died in Avon Indiana. She was a devoted wife, stepmother, step grandmother and a longtime resident of Reston, Virginia where she lived with her husband of 30 years. They loved Reston and were active members of the community. She had an amazing green thumb and kept the most beautiful garden. Cynthia loved her husband Robert L Secundy who preceded her in death, they had a very special bond and loved each other deeply. There will not be a service, but both their ashes will be brought together at a beach on the East Coast.

Cynthia is also preceded in death by her parents Mr. Douglas Barnes and Mildred Vaughn Barnes of Indiana. In addition she is preceded in death by her stepson Joel David Secundy.

Cynthia is survived by her stepdaughter Susan Shari Secundy, Her five step grandchildren Bianca Secundy Barragan, Lauren Maya Secundy Barragan, Robert L. Secundy, Lillian G. Secundy and Oliver J. Secundy. Cynthia also had other family she is survived by her brother James Barnes and her cousin who was caring for her at the time Debbie Thisle (Paul).
