Craig Steven Fouts, a devoted father and grandfather passed away on May 6, 2026. Born on November 28, 1957, in Indianapolis, Indiana, Craig was a lifelong member of the community who dedicated his life both professionally and personally to service and care.

Craig’s journey began in Indianapolis, where he grew up and later graduated from Manual High School. He carried with him a spirit of dedication that touched many facets of his life. As the Director of Maintenance for Tech High School and other schools within the Indianapolis Public Schools system, he played a vital role in maintaining safe and welcoming environments for students and staff alike. His commitment to excellence in his career mirrored the care and attention he provided at home.

Beyond his professional achievements, Craig was a man of many passions. An avid drummer, he found joy and expression in music, rhythmically bringing energy into his life and those around him. He loved boating and camping, often embracing the natural world, which brought him a sense of peace and adventure. Those who knew him remember a man who valued time spent outdoors and cherished moments with family and friends.

Craig’s warmth and love were most profoundly felt by his family. He was a loving father to his sons, Jason (Marcy) Fouts and Jacob (Carly) Fouts, who carry forward his legacy. As a grandfather, Craig’s heart expanded with the arrival of Jaia Fouts, Jae'von Fouts, and Coby Fouts. His great-grandson, Damian Fouts, also brought immense joy into his life. Craig’s role as a caregiver was evident in every relationship, offering support, guidance, and unwavering love.

His passing leaves a deep void for many. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Yong Fouts, whose partnership shaped much of his life’s journey. He also mourned the loss of his parents, George Fouts and Barbara (Vanhorn) Fouts, who were foundational figures throughout his life.
