Cory Moncell Monger, 57, was born to James Elmer Monger, Sr. and Saundra Rae (Burrell) Monger on August 7, 1969, in Indianapolis, IN. He transitioned to his eternal home on October 1, 2026. After receiving his high school diploma, graduating from Broad Ripple High School in 1987, he went on to serve his country in the United States Marine Corps.
Cory worked maintenance jobs for much of his life. He was very personable, and had a big heart, which also made him a wonderful and devoted caregiver to his mom and others.
Cory’s big heart and bigger personality also extended to each and every family member, connecting to each of them in his own way. He will be remembered as a son, father, brother, and friend to many, who had many joys in life.
Cory was a devoted Indianapolis Colts fan, enjoying every season. He also loved dogs, and it was rare in his life not to have a furry companion by his side.
Most of all, Cory enjoyed life, loved hard, and had fun.
Cory is survived by two sisters, Chyrisse Kerley and Mary Monger; and brothers, James (Tammie) Monger, Jr., David Monger, and Randall Monger; his former wife Stacy (Smith) Myers and his daughter, Courtney Monger.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Elmer Monger, Sr. and Saundra Rae Monger; and his sister, Calle Richardson.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date
