Clyde David Lynn passed away on December 25, 2024. He was born on June 17, 1936, to the late Clyde Dewey and Enid (Meyer) Lynn in Seattle, Washington.

He is survived by his wife, the former Barbara Ann (Berg) Lynn of Seattle, Washington; three children: Susan Watson, Karen (Steve) Fife, and Douglas (Jennifer) Lynn; and five grandchildren: Bryan (Shruti) Watson, Dugan Fife, Kellen Fife, Daniel Lynn and Christopher Lynn.

He entered the military in 1960 as a Distinguished Military Graduate from Seattle University.

He graduated from the Army's War College, the Command and General Staff College and attended numerous advanced courses on Education, Training and Management and attained a Master of Science degree.

He retired from the U.S. Army, Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana, in October 1988 as a Regular Army Colonel. His military service of 28 years included assignments in a variety of specialties at all levels of command. He served at numerous stateside posts and for more than three years on the Army Staff in Washington, D.C. Overseas assignments included Vietnam, Germany, France and Turkey. While at Fort Harrison, he served as the Senior Army Advisor to the 123rd United States Army Reserve Command in Indiana and Michigan and in his last assignment, he directed the management and operation of six Army schools. He twice received the Legion of Merit and was awarded the Bronze Star in Vietnam.

In April 1989, Mr. Lynn was designated by the Mayor of Indianapolis to serve as Deputy Administrator and the City's Building Official responsible for the operation of Construction Inspections, Zoning and Unsafe Building Inspections in Marion County and the city of Indianapolis. In 1992, he was appointed as Administrator, Warren Township and held that position until his retirement in March 2000.

Mr. Lynn was a member of the Kiwanis Club of Castleton. He served as Vice President and Director of an international model railroad club. In 1989, he established the Indiana Big Train Engineer's Club.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on January 23, 2025, at 10:30 AM at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 15176 Blessed Mother Blvd., Fishers, IN. The interment will follow at 1:00 PM with Military Honors at Crown Hill Columbarium Annex, 725 W. 42nd St., Indianapolis, IN. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Adrian Dominican Sisters, 1257 East Siena Heights Drive, Adrian, MI 49221 or Saint Meinrad Archabbey, 200 Hill Drive, St. Meinrad, IN 47577.
