Clinitha Agnes (Wallace) Arthur, 84, of Boston, Massachusetts, passed away on March 26th, 2025. She was born in Tivoli, Grenada, West Indies, on November 13, 1940, to Lucil Charles and Arthur F Wallace.
Clinitha grew up in Grenada and was raised by her grandmother, Olive Charles. She was raised with her first cousins, who were like brothers and sisters: Iona, Lousie, Merlin, Mayrose, Roselyn, Raymond, Glenn, Catherine, Phyllis, Ronald “Nashville”, and Sonny. Henry Wallace (Clinitha’s grandfather) relocated from Barbados to Grenada, where he married Helena Kerr, and they had six children Korsel, Maynard, Josephine, Joan, Elenore, and Arthur. Arthur Wallace met Lucil Charles, and they had Clinitha. Clinitha had seven other siblings on the Wallace side of the family. Years later, Lucil Charles married Fredrick Mitchell, and they had three children: Patrick Mitchell, Aurelius, and Angela. Clinitha enjoyed living in Grenada but relocated to Trinidad and Tobago to get more opportunities. In Trinidad, she attended Catholic school and met Carlton Godfrey Arthur, and they married in 1964. They had two children, Clinette and Troy, and lived in Trinidad until they moved to the United States and settled in Boston, Massachusetts, in 1970. Clinitha took a job with Lyning Hospital, which later became Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and worked with newborn babies, where she would greet new parents whom she treated with love. She worked at Brigham and Women's Hospital until she retired in 2005.
Clinitha had activities that she enjoyed throughout her lifetime. Clinitha loved cooking, entertaining, traveling, and spending time with her friends. She enjoyed volunteering at the Trinidad and Tobago Social Club and the Senior Citizen Club. She enjoyed attending St. Gregory Catholic church and gave to many Catholic charities in Boston and worldwide. Later, when she relocated to Carmel, Indiana, she adopted St. Monica’s parish as her home parish. Clinitha was a combination of strength and love. In Grenada, Trinidad, Boston, or Indianopolis, she was intent on helping everyone financially or with her wonderful meals. She believed we are all children of God and wanted everyone to enjoy life to the fullest.
Clinitha is survived by her daughter Clinette Arthur and son, Troy (Debbie) Arthur, and grandchildren Clounitte Arthur, Brianna Arthur, Gabrielle Arthur, Clinton and Maya Arthur. She also had three great-grandchildren: Ariel, Joey, and Jaaziel.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Carlton, and Aurelius and Angela.
