Charles E. Brown, 71, of Brownsville, Tennessee, passed away on July 30th 2026 in Beech Grove, Indiana.
Charles E. Brown was born in Brownsville, Tennessee to Roy and Mary G . Brown (Frye) on May 29th 1955. He went to school at Arsenal Tech. He married Joy L. McKee on May 28th 2011 in Fellowship Baptist Church. He graduated from Ball Sate University May 3rd 2008. He worked as a diesel mechanic and building maintenance supervisor for both Rush and Howard Companies for the last 16 years. He was a veteran of and served in the US Marine Corp and was honorably discharged with National Defense Service Medal and Sharp Shooter Rifle Badge in 1974. He was involved in The American Legion. He enjoyed playing his bass guitar and keyboards with band Spontanious Combustion.
Charles E. Brown is preceded in death by Roy and Mary G. Brown(parents), Ruth Brown-Rutland(Peewee sister), Elnora Robinson(Angie sister), Marcus Mckee(son), and Nevaeh McKee(grand daughter).
Charles E. Brown is survived by his wife Joy L. McKee-Brown, sons Charles (Christina) McKee, Rodney (Veronica) Phillips, widow of son Marcus (Tiffany) McKee, daughter Lillie (Brent) Hettle. Brother James(Michelle) Brown, sisters Francis Watkins, Joyce Robinson, and Audrey Robinson. Several grandchildren, numerous nephews nieces along with numerous great nephews and great nieces.
Memorial services will be held 2p-6p, Friday August 7 at Indiana Funeral Care East, 1307 N. Shadeland Ave. Indianapolis, IN 46219. Memorial service only per request of Charles Brown he wanted simple and not a lot of fuss. Arrangements are by Indiana Funeral Care East.
