Cecil Cleo Sparks, 80, of Rogersville, Alabama, formerly of Indianapolis passed away November 14, 2024, in Athens, AL.
Cecil was born on May 15, 1944, to the late Carl and Beatrice (Hopkins) Sparks in Gerrard County, Kentucky.
Cecil was a hard-working family man who retired from Navistar in Indianapolis in 1997. He moved to Alabama and was an active member of Berea Baptist Church. Cecil enjoyed traveling, telling stories, cooking, and looking for a “good deal.” He loved food and always had a plan for what the next meal should be. He was famous for his beans and cornbread and shared them with others anytime he made them.
Cecil was the loving son of Carl and Beatrice who precede him in death; father to Jeff (Donna), Michelle (Jim), Greg; brother to Shelby, Carl Jr. Ronnie, Bobby, Joellen, Kathy, Lois; grandpa to Katie (Matt), J (Keelie), Jared (Cassidy) and great grandpa to Renee and Sawyer.
Visitation is Thursday, November 21, 2024, 10:30 am until 12:30 pm at Indiana Funeral Care, Greenwood, Indiana.
Funeral service will begin at 12:30 pm.
Burial to immediately follow at Independent Order of Odd Fellows Cemetery, Waverly, Indiana.
