Castellia Boyd

Castellia Boyd was born on November 17, 1929, to the late Roosevelt and Geneva Lucas in Crossplain, Tennessee. She professed her faith in Christ at an early age at Bridgehill Baptist Church. Shortly after, she married the love of her life, and together they shared 63 wonderful years until his passing.

Castellia and her beloved husband later moved to Indianapolis, Indiana, where she became a devoted member of Eastside Baptist Church. She worked faithfully as a housekeeper at St. Francis Hospital until her retirement.

On Sunday, May 25, 2025, God sent her loving husband to guide her to her eternal home. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters Linda Jones, Mary Lee Lucas, and Betty Jo Cook; her brothers Dee Lucas, Paul Edward Lucas, and Phillip Wayne Lucas; and her sons Donnie Boyd, James Boyd Sr., and Aaron Lee Lucas.

She leaves to cherish her memory her son Steve (Carla) Boyd; daughters Sandra (Tom) Doss and Carolyn (Mal III) Jones; daughters-in-law Roberta Boyd and Sarah Boyd; 20 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Today, we say "see you later" to the sweetest woman we’ve ever known. She touched every one of us in her own special way, and her love and legacy will live on in our hearts. In her own words, we say to her, “No need to hurry off.”

Burial will immediately follow at Lincoln Memorial Gardens.
