Carolynn Kay (Smith) Craighill, 57, of Indianapolis, IN, passed away on December 29, 2025, at Community North Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born December 1, 1968, in Indianapolis, IN, to the late Leroy Smith and Brenda K. (Byers) Smith. After completing her education, Carolynn worked for several years as an animal control technician and later was blessed to spend her time as a stay at home mom, raising her family and watching her children and then grandchildren grow.

On September 2, 1995, she married the love of her life, Christopher Craighill together they spent over 30 years by each other’s sides, overcoming any obstacle that came their way. Carolynn will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother and wife and friend who had many joys in life, including, a love of animals, Disney, Christmas season, sewing and doing crafts with her grandkids. She liked to shop, walk every aisle of the store, even if she was in the same store the day before. Above all else, she loved Jesus.

Her greatest joy in life, however, was the time she spent with her family, who will all Most ardently miss her. Carolynn is survived by her husband, Christopher Craighill; children, Tommylee Bustle, Amanda Kay Sellers, Michael Craighill, son-in-law Christopher Sellers. Her beloved Grandchildren, Ella Kay Sellers, Leroy Thomas Sellers, Hank Matthew Sellers.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leroy and Brenda Kay Smith; and her brother Billy Ray Smith. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Friends of Indy Animals website in her honor.
