Cari Renee Buis

Cari Renee Buis, born Cari Renee Ficklin on June 8, 1970, in Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2026, in Plainfield, Indiana. She went to be with the Lord on this day, leaving behind a legacy of love and warmth.

Cari was married to Matthew David Buis in 1995. Together, they shared 31 years of marriage, filled with many cherished moments. She was a devoted wife and a loving mother to five children: Hannah Renee Buis, Sydney Shae Buis, Audrey Lorraine Buis, Matthew David Buis Jr., and Jessie Elizabeth Buis. Her family was a central part of her life, along with her beloved grandchild, Emma Renee Hunnicutt.

Cari’s roots extended deeply into her family. She was the daughter of Herbert Owen Ficklin Jr. and Debra Colette Ficklin and sister to Colette Patrice Ficklin. She cherished her cousin, Ann Meece, and was fondly close to her great nephews, Timothy Jay Michael and Timari Braylon Ficklin. She is also survived by her aunt, Cynthia (Chris) Tencza; and her cousins, Mike (Melissa) Taylor, Jamilyn (David) Gay, and Malia (Josh) Taylor.

Her life was also marked by joyful memories of those who have passed before her, including her grandparents, Anthony M. and Frances Lorraine Deiter; her aunt, Vicky Green; cousin, Christopher Green; and niece, Braelyn Colette Ficklin.

Visitation and funeral services will be held to honor Cari’s memory at Franklin City Church, located at 230 Commerce Dr, Franklin, Indiana 46131. The visitation will be on April 17, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., followed immediately by the funeral service at 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. All who knew Cari will have the opportunity to remember and celebrate her life.

Cari Renee Buis will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She touched the lives of many and leaves behind a heart full of love and beautiful memories. May she rest in peace.
