It breaks my heart to tell everyone that my wife Gail was called by the Lord Tuesday, after a long and difficult battle with cancer.
She was preceded in her journey by her parents Ralph and Jean Mattingly and also her brothers Mark and Michael Mattingly.
She is survived by her husband Gary Rooney, her son, Ryan Dory, and her stepchildren Jennifer Montgomery and Joshua Rooney. And also her sister Deborah Butler and her brothers Tim and Douglas Mattingly.
Before her retirement she spent many years working in the business furniture industry. She loved life and I'm grateful that she also loved me for 26 years. She will be loved and missed by everyone who knew her.
Services and Viewing will be held Tuesday, September 22nd, 2026 from 4pm till 8pm at Indiana Funeral Care located at 2433 East Main Street in Greenwood Indiana.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the American Cancer Society.
