Brenda Kay Roberson

Brenda Kay (Dobbs) Roberson, 74, of Indianapolis passed away on Saturday, July 29th, 2023 at St. Vincent's Hospital due to complications of pneumonia.  She was born on March 22, 1949 in Portland, Tennessee to Hubert Venter and Gladys Reed (Lovelady) Dobbs.  She married James Larry Roberson on June 19, 1965 in Indianapolis.  

Brenda is survived by her son James Larry Roberson Jr. and daughter-in-law Jennifer Nicole Roberson of Chicago, IL; one sister: Charlotte Rich; four nephews: James Dobbs Jr., Terry Dobbs, Richard Dobbs, Michael Herrick; five nieces: Angela Goeppner, Patricia Rich-Priest, Kelly Apollos, Sue Ann Wallace, Tina Dobbs-Covey Scott. Brenda is preceded in death by both of her parents; three brothers: Don Dobbs, Jimmy Dobbs and Obie Dobbs; and one sister: Linda Herrick.

Brenda attended Arsenal Technical High School.  She was the manager of Greenwood Village apartments for many years. In her spare time, Brenda loved traveling the world and lived in Lima, Peru for a few years.  In 2007 Brenda moved into Allison Pointe where she enjoyed being the activities director and hosting bingo, teaching tie-dye classes and making jewelry.  

Family and friends may show their love and support from 12 - 2pm on Thursday, August 3rd at Indiana Funeral Care, Harry W Moore Chapel in Indianapolis.  A celebration of life service will be held at 2 pm following visitation at the funeral home.
