Bobbie Jo McClain, known to her loved ones as Bobbie, peacefully passed away on November 2, 2023, in Indianapolis, IN. She was born on August 18, 1941, in Celina, Tennessee, to the late Dillard Bransford Arms and Cassie Louella Murphy.

Bobbie dedicated her life to education, teaching school for nearly 40 years. She had a passion for guiding and shaping young minds. Bobbie's educational journey began at Celina Grade School, followed by Celina High School. She furthered her education at Mississippi State, Ole Miss University, and Tennessee Tech. She received her Master’s degree from Tennessee Tech.

Outside of her career, Bobbie had a wide range of hobbies that brought her joy and fulfillment. She enjoyed spending time on her computer, fishing, camping, reading, and traveling. Bobbie also had a green thumb and found solace in gardening and collecting rocks. Bobbie has over 2,000 geode rocks in her garden. Bobbie played the mandolin and enjoyed music. Bobbie enjoyed vacations and drives in the country. Bobbie and Kenneth traveled around the world together in their 65 years of marriage.

Bobbie was a faithful member of the Church of Christ, where she found spiritual nourishment and a sense of community. She brought many people into the church throughout her life.

Bobbie was preceded in death by her father, Dillard Bransford Arms, her mother, Cassie Louella Murphy, her brother Walter Russell Arms and her sister Essie Mae Sherrill Thompson, as well as her nephew Dewayne Thompson and her niece Treva Nell Roberts.

Bobbie is survived by and will be deeply missed by her husband, Kenneth McClain, her daughter Kendra McClain and her son Vick Webb, of Indianapolis, Indiana, her sister Reba Ann Arms Sheffield Bowman of Celina, Tennessee, her sister Rosie Lee Sherill Brumley of Waynesboro, Mississippi, her niece Tamara Sheffield of Salisbury, North Carolina, her nephew Jason Hiawatha Arms of Gainesboro, Tennessee, her niece Diana Webb of Nashville, Tennessee, her niece Cindy Strong, her nephew Allon B. Brumley of the Philippines, her niece Kim Dawn Roberts and her nephew Jay G. Brumley of Waynesboro, Mississippi and all of her extended family and friends.

Bobbie married Kenneth McClain on February 24, 1958 in Celina, Tennessee. Family meant everything to Bobbie as she cherished her family very much.

The funeral arrangements for Bobbie Jo McClain are being handled by Upton-Hay Funeral Home in Celina, Tennessee. The family will receive friends and loved ones at the funeral home, where they will gather to honor and remember Bobbie's life.

Bobbie Jo McClain's legacy of dedication, kindness, and love will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew her. May she rest in eternal peace.
