Blanche F. Whitlock

In loving memory of our mother Blanche, born on May 16, 1930 in Woodsfield, Ohio and married to our father William (Bill) in 1954. They started their adventure in Bexley, Ohio, raising four of us with tremendous love and optimism. She was an ever-present force in the community and school system, known and beloved for her tireless energy, dedication, and infectious spirit.

After we all left for college and following dad’s passing, mom spread her wings in search of her next chapter with stops in Massachusetts, West Virginia, Florida, and Arizona before settling in the beautiful town of Stanardsville, Virginia. She quickly got busy updating the home on Main Street where dad was raised and became well known in the community for her ever-present smile, twinkle in her eyes, and enthusiasm. The house is now home to the Green County Historical Society.

Mom maintained her strong faith and indomitable spirit throughout her life, cherishing the love and care of her family until her peaceful passing, one day before her 95th birthday. She is survived by her four children - Bill Jr. and wife Linda, David, Jon and wife Pam, Dana, and three grandchildren - Parker, Madelyn, and Quentin.
