Beverly Joan Shipp age 86 went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wed. April 15th 2026. Beverly, or Bev, to her friends and loved ones, was born in Indianapolis on September 17, 1939 to Herman and Clara Margaret Chappell. She was a graduate of Broad Ripple High School where she played clarinet in the band. She worked at Indiana Bell for several years as a telephone operator before staying home to raise her children. Bev was a devoted mother spending many hours volunteering in the Warren Township PTA. She was a member of the Irvington Eastern Star. Bev was fun-loving, and she loved to laugh and tell jokes. She was a wonderful hostess. She loved cooking and sharing her favorite recipes, some she created herself, with her family and friends. Bev was an amazing caregiver, caring for her husband Leo Marvel during his lengthy illness. After her husband’s passing, Bev worked at LS Ayers and Company at Washington Square in the jewelry department while attending nursing school. After graduating nursing school, she worked for Community Hospital East. While working at the hospital she was introduced to her current husband, Donald. Bev and Donald were married in 1989 and lived on the East side of Indianapolis for many years before retiring and moving to Tucson, Arizona. Bev and Don moved back to the Indianapolis area several years ago. Bev is survived by her husband of 39 years, Donald Shipp; her children Cheri (Gerry) Moreau; Jeffrey (Andrea) Marvel; Rik (Michelle) Marvel; and her grandchildren, Nic (Ellie) Moreau; AJ Moreau; Abigail (Bradley) Andries; Jackson Marvel; Jennifer Marvel, Jessica Marvel; and her five great grandchildren, Lillian Andries, Cassandra Andries, Crosby Andries, Clara Andries and Juliet Moreau. The family would like to thank the staff of Majestic Care of Connersville and especially thank Donald’s Stepdaughter, Tina Carroll and her family for the love and care shown to Bev for the last several months. A visitation and sharing of memories will be held on Friday, April 24th from 11-1 at Indiana Funeral Care, 8151 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, Indiana 46250.
