Beverly "Bev" Hurt, 74, passed away peacefully at Greenbriar Village on November 30, 2024 in Indianapolis, IN.
Bev was born on February 22, 1950 in Indianapolis, IN to Russell and Alice Jean Funke. Bev graduated from Aresenal Technical High School in 1968. Go Titans!
Bev started her career right out of high school and retired as an Administrative Assistant for Simon Property Group.
Bev married James Hurt and they had one daughter, Rebecca "Becky" Hurt-Bishop in March of 1980. Becky was Bev's whole world and was the best mom that anyone could ask for.
Bev was best known for her huge smile and infectious laugh. She loved people and never met a stranger. Some of her favorite hobbies included sewing, painting and crafts of all sorts. She was very artistic and creative. She also loved planning and hosting holiday get togethers and her daughters birthday parties. Sadly in her later years she lost the ability to do the things she loved because her dementia progressed so rapidly, but before that she was truly the life of the party.
Bev is survived by her daughter, Rebecca (Jason) Bishop, 2 grandchildren Alyssa and Lincoln Bishop, step-children Jennifer Williams and Michael Hurt, her sister Terry (Dave) Fishburn, nephews David (Deanna) Funke and Andy (Candice) Miller.
Bev is preceded in death by her parents Russel and Alice Jean Funke, brothers William Funke, Steve Funke, and Gary "Nick" Funke, nephews Brian Funke and Jeff Miller and her ex-husband James Hurt.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
