Betty Jean (Reese) Wesley, (94), of Indianapolis, passed away on Monday, August 31, 2026, at her home.
Betty was born in Indianapolis, Indiana to Raymond and Louise Reese on December 13, 1931. Over the course of her life, Betty worked as a receptionist for General Hospital, at Paul Harris Distribution Center, and she delivered the Indianapolis Star newspaper for many years before retiring. Before her failing health, she was heavily involved in her church, Holy Trinity of Indianapolis and with St. Vincent De-Paul.
Betty had been divorced from Coleman Francis Fox, of Indianapolis. Their union produced two sons together, Mark Edward Fox and Dennis Tracy Fox, and she helped raise one stepson with Coleman, Lowell Francis Fox. She later married Joseph Daniel Wesley, of Indianapolis. Their union produced one daughter, Jo Danielle (aka Jodi) Wesley.
Betty is preceded in death by both Coleman Fox and Joseph Wesley, as well as her stepson Lowell Fox, and her son Mark Fox.
Betty is survived by her son Dennis Fox (Tina), her daughter Jodi Wesley, her daughters-in-law Judy Fox (Lowell) and Jackie Fox (Mark); her grandsons Anthony Fox-Sanders (JesLynn), Brandon Fox (Sarah), Dillon Joe Mikesell, and her granddaughter Dakota Rayne Devol; her great-grandchildren McKynlee Fox and Jonah Fox; as well as her niece Alonez (aka Candie) Nelson (James).
Funeral services will not be held in accordance with Betty’s wishes. Her family will hold a celebration of life at a later date.
Memorials may be given to St. Vincent De Paul Society.
The family of Ms. Betty Wesley would also like to extend our sincerest thanks to Ms. Stephanie Blakey for her unwavering, continued care and support of our mother throughout the past few years. It was immensely appreciated.
