Betty Louise Belshaw, 94, of Westfield, Indiana, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2026, at Copper Trace Senior Living in Westfield. Born on September 23, 1931, in Port Clinton, Ohio, she lived an active life.

Betty graduated from Port Clinton High School and worked for several years as a secretary/bookkeeper. She was employed at the Fostoria Country Club in Ohio. After moving to Kokomo, Indiana, she served as an executive secretary for Continental Steel. Later in life, she transitioned to retail sales, where she showcased her talents as a skilled seamstress. She created several formal dresses for her daughters and sewed for her grandchildren. Betty was also known for her beautiful quilts and Christmas stockings.

Golf became another passion for her later in life. She joined her husband on the golf course well into her 80s and was a member of the Toledo Golf Association. She participated in local and state golf tournaments, winning a few of those events. Betty was a member of the country clubs in both Fostoria, Ohio, and Kokomo, Indiana.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, John William Belshaw II; her parents, Isabelle and Edward Lorensen; her brother, Bob Lorensen; her sister, Marion Brunow; and her daughter, Pamela Brown. She is survived by her son, John Belshaw III (Jackie Henry); her daughter, Nan Scimia (Joseph Scimia); and her son-in-law, Melvin Brown. Her grandchildren include Amy Stultz (Dave Stultz), Anne Staley (Cory Simpson), Jennifer Barry (Stacy Barry), Matthew Brown (Karli Brown), and Allyssa Stevens (Zachary Stevens). Her great-grandchildren are Alex Stultz, Abby Spanbauer (Zackery Spanbauer), Dylan Stultz, Amelia Staley, Adalyn Brown, Cora Brown, Wyatt Barry, Carter Stevens, and Rylie Stevens, along with her great-great-grandchild, Audra Stultz.

A Celebration of Life will be held this summer at St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church for her family. Donations can be made to St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church, 1402 West Main Street, Carmel, Indiana, 46032.

Betty will be remembered as a loving wife and a devoted caregiver to her family.
