Bennie Sexton, born on November 6, 1944, in Thorton, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at the Willows of Shelbyville on October 11, 2025. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Bennie leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication that will be remembered by all who knew him.
Bennie dedicated 44 years of his life to working at Knauf fiberglass, where he was known for his strong work ethic and commitment to excellence. He retired in 2009, cherishing the years spent as part of a dedicated team. Beyond his professional life, Bennie was a man of simple pleasures; he loved to fish, found joy in reading western books, and cherished spending time with his family. The moments shared with his loved ones, especially his grandchildren, were the highlights of his life.
In his personal life, Bennie was happily married to Linda for 60 wonderful years. Together, they built a warm and loving home filled with laughter and joy. Bennie is survived by his beloved wife, Linda Sexton (Canada); daughters Teresa (Eugene) Fair and Kathy (David) Pyle; and grandchildren Marcus Fair, Dakota Pyle, and Gabriel Pyle. He is also survived by his brother, Luther Ventors.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bennie Sexton; mother, Rebecca Sexton (Taylor); sisters Velma, Ollie, Margie, Olive, and Lydia; and brother, Milard.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the visitation, which will be held on October 22, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Indiana Funeral Care - Greenwood Chapel, located at 2433 E. Main St., Greenwood, IN 46143. A funeral service will follow the visitation, starting at 1:00 PM and concluding at 2:00 PM.
Bennie Sexton will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know him. His warmth, kindness, and unwavering love for his family will forever remain in their hearts.
