Benjamin Leroy Smith

Benjamin L. Smith, age 77, of Greenwood Indiana, passed away July 16, 2020 in Indianapolis. He was born on September 8, 1942 in Indianapolis to the late Alfred L. and Marian A. Smith. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Diane E. Smith, his children, Cindi (Gary) Creed, Brad (Rachel) Smith, Nathan (Jennifer) Smith, Ryan (Lisa) Smith and Travis Smith, as well as his grandchildren Gabe, Mitchell, Autumn, TJ and Alex, and his sister Carol (Austin) Praither. He was preceded in death by his brother David and his grandson, Nick.
Ben was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, hunting and camping. He enjoyed spending his free time at his trailer in Dugger, Indiana, with his wife, as well as many more family members and friends. He also enjoyed working on any car and truck that he could get his hands on. He retired from CMW Machinery Inc., where he worked for 34 years as an Inspector/Machinist.
The family is hosting family and friends on Sunday, July 19 at Indiana Funeral Care, 2433 East Main Street, Greenwood, IN 46143 from 12:00pm – 5:00pm. The funeral will be held Monday at 11:00am at Indiana Funeral Care, officiated by Pastor Guy Solarek.
