B. JOANN ROOF
JOANN WAS BORN IN 1929 IN TERRE HAUTE, INDIANA TO THE PARENTS OF CARL VICTOR RUKES AND FLORENCE RUKES. SHE PASSED AWAY PEACEFULLY ON SEPTEMBER 4, 2022 AT THE AGE OF 92 YEARS OLD. SHE WAS A LOVING MOTHER, GRANDMOTHER AND GREAT GRANDMOTHER. NOT ONLY WAS SHE A GRANDMOTHER FOR HER OWN FAMILY SHE WAS ALSO A GRANDMOTHER TO MANY MANY OTHERS. SHE LOVED TO COOK, SHOP, AND WAS VERY FOND OF HORSE RACING. SHE ALSO LOVED SCRATCH OFF LOTTERY TICKETS! SHE WORKED IN THREE SCHOOL CAFETERIAS FOR MANY MANY YEARS.
SHE WAS MARRIED TO MAX (BUD) D. ROOF IN 1950 AND LIVED MOST OF HER LIFE LIVING IN INDIANPOLIS. BUD ROOF PASSED AWAY IN 2007. THEY WERE MARRIED FOR 72 YEARS.
SHE IS SURVIVED BY HER DAUGHTER SUE ANN SCHWIMMER AND HUSBAND MARK SCHWIMMER, SON STEVE ROOF, GRANDCHILDREN NATHAN ROOF AND GRANDDAIGHTER IN LAW BECKY ROOF, GRANDSON JUSTIN ROOF AND DAUGHTER IN LAW JESSICA ROOF, GRANDAUGHTER MADDIE, SCHWIMMER,PARTNER, ANDREW GRANDSON JEFF SCHWIMMER, PARTNER ALICIA, GRANDSON ANDREW SCHWIMMER AND PARTNER JESSI. SURVIVORS ALSO INCLUDE HER SISTER CAROL ROGGIE OF TAMPA, FLORIDA AND 8 GREATGRANDCHILDREN, GRAHAM, NORA, ELI, PENELOPE, REAGAN, MAX, PAXTON, OPHELIA.
THERE WIL BE A PRIVATE SERVICE FOR JOANN WITH ENTOMBMENT AT WASHINGTON PARK NORTH CEMETERY.
