Barbara Jean Poyck, 69, passed away on September 11, 2026. She was born on November 27, 1956, in Miami, Florida, to the late John Woods and Margaret (Kennedy) Lichliter.
Barbara graduated from Edgewater High School in Orlando, Florida, with the Class of 1974. She proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1975 to 1976.
Barbara was a creative and artistic person with many interests. She was a talented artist who especially enjoyed drawing portraits, and she also played the guitar. She had a lifelong love of horses and enjoyed horseback riding.
A hopeless romantic at heart, Barbara loved romantic comedies, with Pretty Woman being a particular favorite. She also had a love for the theater and especially enjoyed her time running lighting at Butler University.
Above all, Barbara treasured time spent with her family. She enjoyed shopping, going out to eat, attending the theater, and simply being together with those she loved.
Barbara is survived by her children, Theresa Evans (Jarrod), Brian Inglesby (Laurie), Jeremy Putnam (Tara), Ginny Risch (Scott), and Kelly Poyck; her grandchildren, Tiffany, Malachi, Kaelyn, Kinsley, and Nova; her brother, John; and other loving family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Woods and Margaret (Kennedy) Lichliter, and her sister, Theresa.
Barbara will be remembered for her artistic spirit, her love of family, and the many special memories she created with those closest to her.
A memorial gathering will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at Indiana Funeral Care – Central, 925 E. Hanna Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana 46227. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., with a memorial service beginning at 4:00 p.m.
