Barbara Childers

Barbara Ellen Childers, 76, known to her friends and family as Barb, passed away peacefully at Our Hospice in Columbus, IN on November 1, 2023. She was born on September 7, 1947. Barb was the third of six children born to Albert and Mae (Byrd) Pitney, Edinburg, Indiana.

Barb was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Mae; her sister, Katherine (Pitney) Rooks; her brother, Chester D. Pitney; and her husband, Leeroy Childers. Barb is survived by Janice (Nick) Giles, Waynee (Karen) Pitney, and Martha (Pitney) Kohr.

Barb was a Home Manager. She took care of her nieces and nephews from time to time. Even waved at the clown in the field when she and Uncle Lee were driving home with her nieces and nephews! Barb loved butterflies and working in the yard, planting flowers. In lieu of flowers, please send memorial donations to Our Hospice, Columbus, Indiana or the Alzheimer's Association.
