B. Jane Clonch, a beloved mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2026, in Greenwood, Indiana. Born on May 13, 1938, in Indianapolis, Indiana, Jane lived a full and vibrant life until her final days. She was known for her kindness and generosity, always putting the wants and needs of others before her own. This selfless nature was only rivaled by her infectious sense of humor, which brightened the lives of everyone she encountered.
Jane was a receptionist for 10 years at Hartford, 10 years at Daseke Insurance and a pbx operator at American States for 27 years before retiring in 2000.
For over 40 years, Jane was a devoted member of Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church, where she dedicated many years volunteering in the main office and contributing to various church activities. Her unwavering faith and commitment to her community were evident in everything she did, touching countless lives along the way.
A passionate reader, Jane found joy in the pages of Silhouette romance novels, often getting lost in stories that captivated her heart. Her love for sports was equally as fervent; she was a loyal Notre Dame football fan who treasured every chance to watch her team play, whether in person at a game or from the comfort of her home. Jane's enthusiasm did not stop there; she was also an avid supporter of the Chicago Cubs, enjoying the thrill of every game.
Jane is survived by her son, Scott A. Kirkman; her sister, Ann Vogelpohl (David); her brother, Stephen Theobald (Barbara); and many cherished nieces and nephews who will remember her fondly. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold W. and Margaret A. (Gill) Theobald, who nurtured her kind spirit and instilled in her the values that guided her life.
As we gather to celebrate the life of B. Jane Clonch, let us remember her generous heart, her laughter that could warm the coldest of days, and her unwavering love for her family and friends.
