Audrey Jean (Syverson) Pedersen, age 91, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2025, in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was born on June 22, 1934 in Mille Lacs County, Minnesota, and grew up in Onamia, MN. She married Ronald Pedersen and together they raised their family in Waukesha, Wisconsin.
Audrey committed her life to Christ at an early age which led to a joy in life that was contagious to everyone around her. She will be remembered as a joyful soul whose warmth touched those around her. Audrey’s hearty laughter was contagious and her delicious meals and fabulous desserts were feasts to remember. She loved sewing beautiful quilts and crocheting intricate blankets which are treasured by her children and grandchildren. Her love of family was the heart of her life – whether hosting yearly family reunions, traveling to Minnesota for cousin gatherings or visiting her children and grandchildren around the country.
Audrey enjoyed singing for many years in the church choir where her husband was the music director, camping with friends and family, and nightly games of Yahtzee, dominoes, Rook, or other card games when they weren’t cheering for the Brewers or the Packers.
Later in life Ron and Audrey enjoyed many years as “snowbirds”, wintering in Arizona where Audrey spent many hours in water aerobics and having coffee with Minnesota cousins who lived there. Audrey lived her life with kindness, humor, and an open heart, leaving a legacy of love that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
Audrey is survived by her children Phil (Karol) Pedersen of Connecticut, Steve (Tami) Pedersen of Indiana, Tim (Sharon) Pedersen of Arizona, Scott Pedersen of Arizona, Melodie (Joe) SanFillipo of Florida, and Carrie Kraus of Wisconsin; 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; her brother Dennis (Georgette) Syverson of Illinois and many beloved cousins and relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald; her brothers Harold, Orville, and Myron Syverson; and her sister, Evelyn Hanson.
We would like to acknowledge and thank the many nurses and aids at Hooverwood Living facility who helped care for her. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends, but are blessed by the thought of her laughter echoing through Heaven, being reunited with her loved ones who went before her. We are incredibly thankful that she is at peace in the presence of her Savior, Jesus Christ.
A celebration of life will be held at a later time in Big Lake, MN.
