Artiemisha Leola Powell

Artiemisha L. Powell, known to family and friends as “Mickie,” passed away on May 23, 2026, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Mickie was born on October 8, 1950, to the late William Henry Ingram Sr. and Laura LaVada Louise Myers Ingram.

Mickie was preceded in death by her husband, John L. Powell; her brothers Ernest Kelly, Donald Myers, Harry Minor, William Ingram Jr., and Millage Ingram; and her sister, Ima Jean Ethington.

She leaves behind her sisters, Alma Turner (Duane Turner) and Ella Turner, along with a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, whom she loved as her own, as well as her cousins, extended family members, and friends who loved her dearly.

Mickie will be remembered for her caring nature, strength, and the love she showed to those around her. Her memory will live on in all who knew and loved her.

Services for Mickie will be held Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Indiana Funeral Care, 8151 Allisonville Rd., Indianapolis, IN, 46250. Friends and family are welcome to gather for a visitation from 2:00pm – 4:00pm, with a funeral service beginning promptly at 4:00pm. Repass to follow services at the funeral home.
