Anthony Leo Montarsi passed away on June 30, 2026, at the age of 55 in Columbus, Ohio.
Anthony was born on October 20, 1970, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Sestilio and Anna Montarsi. The son of an Italian immigrant, he was proud of his Italian heritage. He grew up in Fishers, Indiana, alongside his brothers, Phillip and Mario. During his sophomore year of high school in 1986, Anthony met the love of his life, Shelli, in Geometry class. What began as a chance meeting grew into a lifelong love story that spanned nearly four decades.
Anthony graduated from Hamilton Southeastern High School in 1989, where he was a multi-sport athlete with a passion for football, show choir, and theater. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) in 1993.
Anthony built a successful insurance career, spending the last 25 years with American Family Insurance. Through his dedication, leadership, and commitment to serving others, he advanced from Agent to Life Sales Advisor, ultimately becoming Ohio D206 Sales District Leader. His outstanding career was recognized with multiple company honors, including membership in the Life Diamond Club and induction into both the All-American Club Hall of Fame and the American Family 20-Year Hall of Fame.
Anthony was a devoted husband who married the love of his life, Shelli, on July 30, 1992. Together they built a life centered on faith, love, travel, and making lasting memories with their three wonderful children, Blake, Ian, and Holden.
His Christian faith was the foundation of his life, shaping the way he loved his family, served others, and cared for those around him.
Anthony was the kind of father who always put his family first. He never missed a game, coached countless youth teams, and treasured the everyday moments just as much as the milestones. Whether attending early morning All Pro Dad breakfasts, playing basketball in the driveway, or throwing the football while waiting for the school bus, he made sure his children always knew he would be there.
Anthony had a deep love for the outdoors and embraced every opportunity for adventure. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cycling, and traveling, always looking forward to the next trip or ride.
Those who knew Anthony will remember him for his charisma, generosity, selflessness, and remarkable ability to tell a story. He had a gift for making people laugh, making strangers feel like friends, leaving everyone he met a little better for having known him. His kindness, unwavering support, and genuine love for others touched countless lives and will continue to be felt by all who knew him.
Anthony is survived by his beloved wife, Shelli; his children, Blake, Ian, and Holden; his brothers, Phillip and Mario; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, friends, and colleagues who will forever cherish his memory.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sestilio and Anna.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 23, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., and again on Friday, July 24, from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral service at noon, both at White River Christian Church, 1685 N. 10th Street, Noblesville, IN 46060.
Though his time with us was far too short, Anthony's legacy of faith, kindness, laughter, and unwavering love for his family will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
