Anne Marie Newsom Houdashelt

Anne Marie (Newsom) Houdashelt, 63, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2025, while on vacation with her son's family in Fremont, Indiana.

Born on November 22, 1961, in Indianapolis, Anne was the cherished daughter of Maryann Furgason and the late Ronald Newsom. She grew up surrounded by the love and laughter of her large family, sharing her childhood with her siblings David, Barb, Tim, Brian, Jeff, Billy, and Brenda. The close-knit bonds they formed in their youth remained a strong and enduring presence in her life.

Anne was a devoted mother to her sons, Jeremy Newsom and Jonathan Newsom. She welcomed their wives, Christina Waterman and Brittany Ferry, as beloved members of her family. Her greatest joy was being “Grandma” to Kyra, Gavin, Brayden, Brantley, and Grayson. She cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren, especially during family gatherings and vacations that were full of laughter, love, and lifelong memories.

Anne spent her final day doing what she loved most—surrounded by family. She was camping with her son, her daughter-in-law, and her granddaughter, enjoying nature, sharing stories, and creating new memories together. Her day was filled with joy, love, and the simple pleasures she held so dear.

Anne’s warmth extended well beyond her immediate family. She had a special relationship with her uncle Jim and aunt Barb, and maintained close ties with many cousins and extended relatives who will miss her deeply.

Her passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of those who knew her. Anne will be remembered for her deep devotion to family, her kind and joyful spirit, and the love she gave so freely. May her memory continue to bring comfort and inspiration to all who loved her.

A public visitation is Monday, June 23, 2025, 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm at Indiana Funeral Care, Greenwood Chapel, followed by a private funeral service for family only beginning at 5pm.
