Adam Richard Buis

Adam Richard Buis, born on October 20, 1983, in Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on May 9, 2026. 

Throughout his life, Adam found joy in a variety of interests. He was an avid fisherman, a lover and collector of tennis shoes, and a dedicated sports enthusiast. He enjoyed cooking and grilling, often bringing family together for gatherings. Above all else, Adam’s family was the cornerstone of his life. He was fiercely protective and deeply committed to those he held dear.

Adam is lovingly survived by his mother, Stacy Greer; his stepfather, David Greer; his sister, Erika Buis; his father, Darrell Buis; and his Fiance, Katie Maddox. He was a devoted father to his sons, Gavin Buis and Carter Van Ness, whose lives he cherished beyond measure. Also surviving him is his aunt, Cynthia Mullins, and her husband, Michael, as well as numerous cousins who were close to his heart.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Sharon Hutcheson, and his uncle, Ken Hutcheson, whose memories he carried with him always.

Visitation to honor Adam’s life will be held on May 14, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Indiana Funeral Care - Greenwood Chapel, located at 2433 E. Main St., Greenwood, Indiana. The funeral service will immediately follow at 7:00 p.m. The family would like to give a special thanks to Bryan Ottney for officiating the funeral service.
