Abel Resendez

Abel Resendez, age 43, passed away on June 7, 2026, surrounded by love after a sudden and courageous battle with illness.

Born in McAllen, Texas, Abel was the beloved son of Martin and Maria Resendez. He carried with him a love for people, family, and music throughout his life. Abel never met a stranger. Whether meeting someone for the first time or reconnecting with an old friend, he had a gift for making people feel welcome. His warm personality, generous spirit, and genuine interest in others left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

Above all else, Abel was devoted to his family. He was a loving husband and a proud father whose greatest joy was spending time with his wife, Michelle, and his son, Ezekiel "Zeke." He loved deeply and wholeheartedly, and his family was the center of his world. The bond he shared with Zeke was especially precious, and he took great pride in being his father.

Abel is survived by his wife, Michelle Resendez; his son, Ezekiel "Zeke" Resendez; his parents, Martin and Maria Resendez; his brothers Mario, Albert "Bert," and Jonathan "Andy" Resendez; his sisters Maribel and Dora Resendez; as well as many extended family members and friends who loved him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Martin Resendez Jr.

Though his life ended far too soon, Abel leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, laughter, and connection. He will be remembered for his easy smile, his love of music, his ability to make friends wherever he went, and the deep love he had for his family.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the physicians, nurses, and caregivers who cared for Abel with compassion and dignity during his final days.

Abel will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever carried in the hearts of those who knew him.
