Wilson Lamon Ricks II

May 23, 1972 — October 9, 2020

Wilson Lamon Ricks II, was born on May 23, 1972 in Indianapolis, Indiana, to the union of Pastor Wilson Ricks and Mother Ethel M. Fields. The only son of 5 children, Wilson was raised in the Church of God in Christ and gave his life to the Lord at an early age.

Wilson attended Fall Creek Elementary, Indianapolis Public Schools #106 and #94. He was a 1990 graduate of Arlington High School and earned an Associate degree from Ivy Tech College. In 1994, Wilson began his career in the auto industry at Chrysler Indianapolis Foundry. In 2006, he relocated to Rockford, Illinois to follow his career at the Chrysler Belvidere Assembly Plant. As part of the Grant Recession, Wilson elected to early retirement and moved back to Indianapolis where he continued a career in manufacturing. He was currently employed at Yamaha Precision Propellers, Inc. in the quality control department.

Wilson enjoyed gardening, cooking, travelling, listening to music and spending quality time with his family. He loves to barbecue. His specialties was ribs, which did not need any sauce. They were “fall-off-the-bone” delicious! Wilson frequently barbequed for his family and also loved supporting his child at their games and performances.

Wilson Lamon Ricks II departed this life on October 9, 2020. He leaves to cherish his loving memory: 5 children: Wilson Ricks III, Emmanuel, Kadiesha, Vance and Jaylen Ricks; stepson: Deontez Milligan; parents: Pastor Wilson (Charlotte deceased) Ricks and Ethel (Roberts) Fields; 4 sisters: Kim (Maurice) Carter, Melanie, Sherice and Kiana Ricks; 6 step-siblings: Robin I (Marcus) Banks, Gregory I, Slatter, Joyce Tracy, Raymond, Robin, and Reginald (Rhonda) Fields; a host of nieces. Humbly Submitted by the Family

To My Only Son,

Your departure was sudden and very unexpected: a loss I can never replace. I will always cherish the many times we worked together side by side, father and son. I will always love you.
