Trenidad Fredericks

Trenidad (Jimenez) Fredericks, 97, passed away November 8, 2020 in Greenwood, Indiana.

Trenidad was born March 8, 1923 and was the first child born to Nicolasa (Gonzalez) and Delfino Jimenez.

Her husband, Don A. Fredericks, preceded Trenidad in death.

She attended all grades (1 through 12) in the Valley Center Public School system of Valley Center, Kansas (Sedgwick County). After receiving her high school diploma, Trenidad enrolled at Halstead School of Nursing in Halstead, Kansas to become a Registered Nurse and was licensed as an R.N. She became a career practicing R.N. in several states.

Trenidad greatly valued education and was a high achiever. She excelled in countless academic endeavors - earning Specialized Advanced Certifications. She taught Surgical Nursing at St. Joseph in Wichita, Kansas. After her marriage to Don Fredericks, she continued to practice nursing anywhere that her husband's Federal Law Enforcement career assignment took them.

Trenidad's diverse talent was evident at an early age. By the time she completed 1st Grade in Valley Center, she was an accomplished bi-lingual translator. A commitment for helping others came early, as she became a trail-blazing pioneer and role model for her younger siblings. Trenidad's strong self-assurance and confident determination were emulated! She was a paragon of encouragement they could follow to help guide and inspire for success.

Trenidad will always be remembered as a woman of devout Faith. She was a "cradle" Catholic that believed in prayer and held a lifetime devotion to the Catholic Church. She was a member of St. Barnabas Catholic Church, Indianapolis, Indiana.

She is preceded in death by her parents Delfino and Nicolasa Jimenez and siblings: Diego, Salvador, Pat, Loretta, Lon, Hope, David, and Lucia. Surviving siblings include Cathy, Bibe, Dolly, Susie, Del, Ralph, Louise, Alice, Nick, Tony, and other family members. Trenidad enjoyed her career and deeply loved her family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Friday, June 4, 2021 at Indiana Funeral Care, Greenwood Chapel, 2433 E. Main St. Greenwood, IN 46143.Trenidad will be laid to rest next to her husband at Marion National Cemetery.
