Robert Joseph Hartman

Robert Joseph Hartman, 80, of Westfield, IN passed away on September 21 at IU North Hospital in Carmel, IN.
Bob was born in Indianapolis, IN to the late Will and Dorothy Hartman on October 12, 1939. He was in the first graduating class of Scecina Memorial High School in 1957 and then graduated from Xavier University. Bob was a US Army Veteran. He married Nancy Murray in 1966 and they had two daughters, Monica and Kathleen.
Bob worked for the Indianapolis Power and Light Company for 29 years and then worked as a CPA at Myers and Stauffer.
He married Bernadette Rodak in 1997. They shared 19 wonderful years together and enjoyed Colts games, theater, and traveling. Bob enjoyed spending time with his daughters and dog Annie. He loved all sports, movies, trivia, and church.
Bob always encouraged his grandchildren to pursue their interests. He was so proud of his grandson Jacob who is a Marine and his granddaughter Hanna whose wedding was a highlight of last year.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents Will and Dorothy Hartman; brothers Don and Bernard Hartman; his wife Bernedette "Bunny" Rodak; and nephew Mike Hartman.
He is survived by his daughters Monica (Brad) Reinking and Kathleen "Katie" Monnett; grandchildren Jacob (Deena) Monnett and Hanna (Austin) Elliott; great-grandchildren Karina and Callum Monnett; and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, September 25 at 12 noon at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery Chapel, 9001 Haverstick Road, Indianapolis, IN 46240, with visitation prior to service beginning at 10 am.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Shepherd's Gate Food Pantry at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church. Checks can be made out to: St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 17102 Spring Mill Road, Westfield, IN 46074, with a notation for Shepherd's Gate Food Pantry.
