Phyllis Ann Bartley

August 23, 1940 — April 30, 2022

Phyllis Ann (Schwenk) Bartley, August 23, 1940 – April 30, 2022. She was predeceased by her parents, Carl Irvin Schwenk and Helen Elizabeth (Ernst) Schwenk, and her great granddaughter, Zoey Mae Hamilton. She was a current resident of Martinsville, Indiana, and a long time member of First Baptist Church of Plainfield. She was a devoted mother to 4 children, David Wayne Bartley, Elizabeth Ellen Nungester, Thomas Carl Bartley, and Jeffrey Bruce Bartley. In addition to her children, she is survived by 15 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
Phyllis was an only child raised in North Salem, Indiana. She graduated from Avon High School and attended Indiana University in Bloomington. She met and married Hubert Coy Bartley on April 7, 1962. The couple made their home in Plainfield where they raised their family.
Phyllis enjoyed bowling as a young lady and won many trophies. She was an avid reader & enjoyed Christian novels as well as science fiction. She was very active in her church & she lived her faith. She was also a ‘crazy cat lady’ who loved and adored her feline companions.
Phyllis was a beautiful soul who will be missed greatly by her family & friends.
There will be a memorial service on Saturday, May 7th, 2022 at First Baptist Church in Plainfield. The visitation will be from 2:00pm to 4:00pm with the memorial service to follow at 4:00pm.
