Jay Howard Negley

Jay Howard Negley, age 75, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at his residence. He was born to the late Malcolm and Marcella (Reynolds) Negley on June 26, 1944 in Tucson, Arizona.

Jay was a graduate of Lawrence Central High School, class of 1962. He joined the United States Navy on June 11, 1962 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Jay transferred to the Navy Reserves on June 25, 1965 and was honorably discharged on June 10, 1968. He was united in marriage on March 16, 1985 to Linda Lou O'Neal at Castleton Methodist Church. Professionally, he was Distribution Manager at Eli Lilly. After retiring from Eli Lilly, he went on to become Parts Manager for Walmart fleet maintenance, retiring in 2008. Jay was a Freemason. He was an avid hunter and golfer. His interest included Nascar racing, reading about the old west, traveling out west and spending time with his family.

Jay is survived by his wife of 34 years, Linda Lou Negley of Indianapolis, Indiana; his six children, Chris Baker, Jenny Ligocki, Stephanie DeStefano, Sylvia Ballou, Chris Negley and Melinda Tosser, ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Other survivors include four brothers and two sisters and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at Indiana Funeral Care - Greenwood Chapel, 2433 East Main Street, Greenwood, Indiana 46143. The Funeral Service will follow at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Jason Taylor officiating. Interment will take place in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, 1977 South State Road 135, Greenwood, Indiana 46142 with full military rites.
