Deborah Ann Rivers

Deborah Ann Rivers passed away February 4, 2022 in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was born May 14, 1953 in Lorain, Ohio to David Rivers and Lillie (May) Edwards.

Deborah attended Mason Elementary School and Admiral King High School in Lorain, Ohio. She gave birth to five beautiful children, Keithon Rivers, Sr., LaShanda Carroll, Santonio Rivers, Jamel Rivers and Valdese Johnson, Jr. Deborah dedicated many years to working in healthcare. This gave her the opportunity to lovingly care for her mother until her death in March, 2011.

Deborah loved to shop. She was known for her fashion sense and wearing beautiful jewelry. Deborah attended the East Lawrence congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She studied the bible and became an unbaptized publisher.

Deborah’s smile was contagious and her laughter lit up the room. If you knew Deborah you knew her favorite saying. She was such a wonderful and beautiful soul. She will be sincerely missed.

Deborah was preceded in death by her parents, David Rivers and Lillie Edwards, her son Keithon Rivers, Sr., her sister Linda Hawkins and two brothers, David Rivers, Jr. and Mark Rivers.

She leaves to mourn her passing her daughter LaShanda (Robert) Carroll of Indianapolis, Indiana and her three sons Santonio Rivers of Indianapolis, Indiana, Jamel Rivers of Fort Wayne, Indiana and Valdese Johnson, Jr. of East Saint Louis, Illinois. Grandchildren, Keithon Rivers, Jr., Monica White, Korey Rivers, Kynndi Rivers, Makayla Jackson, Makenzie Carroll, Mariah Carroll, Aerianna Rivers, Jamir Rivers, Janelle Rivers, Kemarri Rivers, Valdese Johnson, III, Tyyonna Johnson and Tyon Richardson. Great grandchildren Kameron White and Kane Rivers. Three brothers, Hillard and Thomas Rivers of Indianapolis, Indiana and Terry Rivers of San Antonio, Texas. Two sisters, Janet Lee-Sabir and Marla (David) Thomas of Cincinnati, Ohio. Many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.
