Carolyn Sue Riester

Sue Riester, 79 of Fishers, IN passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2020 in Fishers, IN surrounded by her family. She was born January 25, 1941 in Montgomery, Indiana. She was the daughter of Michael O’Connor and Elizabeth (O’Connor) O’Bryan. Sue graduated from Montgomery High School in 1959. She married Ron Riester, (son of Seth and Martha Riester) on February 3, 1962. Ron and Sue were married for 58 years and spent 53 of those years living in Bedford and raising their three children. Sue worked for 36 years and retired from NSA Crane. In 2015, Ron and Sue moved to Fishers, Indiana near their two daughters and many of their grandchildren. Sue and Ron were highly active in St. Vincent de Paul Parrish in Bedford and at Holy Spirit at Geist in Fishers.

Sue is survived by a large family. She had one son, Steve Riester of Bedford. Steve and his wife Michelle have been married for 29 years and have 2 children, Michael Riester and Hannah Riester. Sue has two daughters, Cathy Cooley and Pamela Bontrager. Cathy and her husband Scott, married 23 years live in Fishers Indiana. They have 4 children: Sydney Cooley, Emma Cooley, Jackson Cooley and Mason Cooley. Pamela and her husband Brett of 29 years live in Greenfield, Indiana. Pam and Brett have 4 children: Carli (Spencer) Patton, and their children Zoey, Piper, Daphne and Solomon, of Nashville, TN, Alex Bontrager of Fishers, IN, Oliva (Zachary) VanNess of Fishers, IN and Anna Bontrager of Boulder, CO.

Sue is preceded in death by her parents and her sister Katherine Burris of Bunker Hill, IL.

A mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2020 at Holy Spirit at Geist Catholic Church in Fishers, IN at 10:00 AM
