Awanda V. Devitt

Awanda Devitt, 84 of Indianapolis, went to be home with the Lord on October 31, 2019. Born June 5, 1935 to the late Luke and Marguerite Harmon of North Vernon, In.

For the past 50 years Awanda sold Avon in the Indianapolis area.
In her younger days, you could find Awanda at the local roller rink. She played softball, bowling and was a big Colts fan.

Awanda had many passions in her life. A loving mother and homemaker, Awanda was a remarkable cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family, most especially over the holidays. She enjoyed working in her flower gardens and reading. The greatest joy and pleasure Awanda had in this life were her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years Jim Devitt of Indianapolis,son Mike (Nancy) Devitt of Whitestown, In. and her daughter Angi (Larry) Hardin of Indianapolis. Her grandchildren Joshua (Christy) Devitt of LIzton, In, , Kaisee Thompson of Westfield, In. and Jeremy (Brenna) Devitt of Westfield, In. Her great grand daughters Sequoia, Katelyn, Kinley and Teagan.

A celebration of Awanda's life will be held at 11am on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at Indiana Funeral Care, 8151 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, IN 46250. Visitation will be held prior to service from 9am - 11am. Burial to follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.

The family has asked in lieu of flowers to please make donations to the Lewy Body Dementia foundation.
