Ann Leibold

December 12, 1926 — January 30, 2021

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of our loving, devoted mother and wonderful grandmother, Ann Leibold, on January 30, 2021. She left us while sleeping peacefully in Zionsville, Indiana. She was in her 95th year.

Born on December 12th, 1926, in a small town in Czechoslovakia, mom witnessed incredible changes to her world, having immigrated to America with her mother and father because of the Nazi's move into Czechoslovakia in the fall of 1938. She grew up in Pennsylvania, where she met her future husband and our loving father, William Leibold while dancing at Kennywood Park in Pittsburg, PA after the war was over in 1946. They were married on our dad’s birthday on July 28, 1947. Due to our dad’s work in the steel industry, mom and dad relocated from Pennsylvania to northwest Indiana, ultimately relocating to Indianapolis after dad’s retirement in the summer of 1988.

Ann was the beloved mother of 5 boys, Brad (Gloria), Kevin, Bill (Sharie), Rick (Theresa), and Steve (Britta); the proud grandmother of (17) grandkids, to Jeff, Amanda, Christopher, Adam, Alexandra, Nicholas, Julienne, Tony, Patrice, Joel, Jessie, Makenna, Samuel, Rachel, Noelle, Noah, and Giona; and the great grandmother of (10) to Maleigh, Remy, Noah, Kenedee, Kayulei, Gabby, Jaelyn, Jordan, Emma, and Avery.

Mom is predeceased by her devoted husband William, both living to the healthy age of 94.

Mom lived a full life as a devoted mother, wonderful grandmother, and caring homemaker. Most notably, though, was the love for her family in which she instilled in her sons’ strong values that have served them well. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends and will forever be in our hearts, thoughts, and prayers.

A celebration of mom‘s life will be held at Indiana Funeral Care, 8151 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, IN 46250, on Saturday, February 6, 2021, beginning at 11 am. It will be a private service for family and close friends only.
